Welcome to the Dorset Lupus Group's web site

We are one of the Regional Groups for the national Lupus UK charity, helping those sufferers living in or close to the county of Dorset.

We have regular events where everyone is welcome, and we encourage family and friends to come along too. We publish a quarterly Newsletter and also do our best to maintain contact with our members in many other ways, including via this website and a page on Facebook.

We have a Library with many books etc about Lupus which members can borrow and read - the service is free.

Our Group is also actively involved in fundraising, both to support local sufferers and to contribute to Lupus UK who sponsor research into the causes and treatment of lupus in all its forms.

Our Contacts Service is available to everyone to talk about anything that concerns you. Lupus is rarely understood by others around us and sometimes it is nice to talk to someone who understands. We also offer a Buddy service whereby another member will come to your hospital appointment with you, to offer support and a second pair of ears, to take in the complexities of what is being said. This is completely confidential.

Our aim is to help, as friends and fellow sufferers. We are not medically trained but have the best training ever: we are going through the same frustrations as you, so give us call, or come along and meet some new friends.

"Lupus is a disease that has no boundaries. More than 5 million people around the world have lupus."
